I think the problem is that you are running web2py with 2.7 and the sdk with 2.5. I suspect when 2.5 finds the pyc created with 2.7 it complains. GAE does not complain because the pyc are not deployed. Try delete all the pyc files, restart the SDK and it should not complain.
