I have recently upgraded an Xserve from 10.3.9 to 10.4.7 and then

I now find that I cannot access a deployed app even though it is
running in monitor. I can open it using local access e.g.
192.168.1.33:2001, but I cannot access it using a url, - www.myapp.com
It sounds like your WO config is correct.
To deploy, I copied a "myapp.woa" to /Library/WebObjects/
Applications and have set the owner and group as appserver and
appserveradm (on 10.3.9 these were run as root).
I also copied the "myapp.woa" into /Library/WebServer/Documents/
www.myapp.com/WebObjects/myapp.woa (stragely though, this file
initially shows as the woa icon, but after restarting the server,
it changes to a standard folder!).
I have tried various ownership and group permissions including
root, appserver, admin, but none have worked. The browser diplays
an error file /Library/WebServer/Documents/www.myapp.com/error.html
I have also had a response "Not found The requested URL /cgi-bin/
WebObjects/www.myapp.com.woa/wa was not found on this server"
In Apache (1.3.33) I have virtual hosts set and for this one the
rewrite rule is:
^/$ /cgi-bin/WebObjects/www.myapp.com.woa/wa [last, passthrough]
Can anybody please tell me what I am doing wrong, including what
ownership and permissions should be on the document root files and
folders.
Are you able to connect to the apache daemon at all? Are you using
the cgi adaptor or the apache module? Maybe post your WO conf file
at /System/Library/WebObjects/Adaptors/Apache/apache.conf
