I switched to plain old AWT for resizing and the application stability and performance increased dramatically.
I'll do that as soon as I work on that code again which will happen in a couple of weeks. Currently it works again and I'm happy that I don't have to spent the night searching for the problems.
But thanks for the tip. I was suspecting that QTfJ was responsible for some of the problems we had in the past but I guess this is a new high ... :-/
