By all appearances it is running - except to JavaMonitor. It continues to report that the instance is trying to launch and if I leave the monitor page and come back it reports a death for the instance.
In my experience most issues with Javamonitor stem from confusion about host names. I've never known whether this was needed or just voodoo, but I always set up the host name in JavaMonitor which matches what you get by reverse resolving the IP address to a host. That seemed to fix lots of odd JavaMonitor problems for me some years ago. Using 'localhost' just caused me lots of grief.
Also, take a look at the http response on port 1085. See if that matches what you are setting in JavaMonitor.
