You can try the latest JDK with the latest DCEVM, it usually works even if version does not matches.
As anyone tried OpenJDK on Mac with Eclipse ? There are now Mac binaries version of adopt OpenJDK end even a version with Hotswap included https://github.com/TravaOpenJDK/trava-jdk-11-dcevm/releases but I did not took the time to try yet.
