I'll work on fixing the link text here, it is at least part of the 
problem. What if it said "find links to all the major source code 
consolidations" instead? I'm open to ideas.

Agreed, all of the big consolidations of source code are linked here, 
below the listing of all the binaries and it is just getting too long to 
make sense. I talked with Bonnie about it this morning and we will soon 
also need to grapple more with providing information about how to get 
the source associated with a specific binary as well...so it will get 
more loaded if we don't refactor the content of the Downloads page.

Right, and this source code is useful for a certain audience, but not 
equivalent to what some of our other developer audiences will be looking 
for (which is Alan's point, I think).
