I'm not quite sure cause the numbers vanished from the admin panel with the 2.4.6 (or above) upgrade by Christian Lohmaier already some time ago. He would know more details. We're using 2.4.5 for libreofficebox.org where the version is still visible. Kind of a 'plan' was to skip a few minor updates and jump to 3.0 or 3.0.3 in the meantime. VM13 is setup as a testing environment also for this purpose, afaik no one actually did it yet. It's available at http://staging.libreoffice.org and offers a clone of our website.
