I can ask the companies if we may use the images under those licensing
terms. Any reason why something like CC-BY wouldn't work?

I'd suggest the libreoffice wiki, as it's a resource that the project
controls. Wikimedia is less of a repository and more an active
commons.

Is the Libreoffice wiki the preferred location for source media, or is
there some kind of in-house repository for such things? I saw
klaus-jürgen ask for some additional pieces as SVG, and wondered if
all these media assets might be easier to manage in some structure
with subdirectories.
