I think CVS status is an explanation, not really an excuse :)

I'm also thinking we should make a 1.0 release soon after 0.8 -- that
Webware interfaces aren't changing much at all, and that development of
the core is only pretty minor, I think implies Webware is at a 1.0
level.  (It probably was around 0.6, but eh...)  There's a ton of places
open for new development, but most of them don't relate to the core
pieces of WebKit.
