It does seem there's quite a bit of hype around Twisted.  But then it's
worked for them...

Anyway, my vague impression is that Twisted is more along the lines of
Apache or Medusa.  I don't know if the framework for the actual
applications is quite as well developed, but there's been a lot of work
on supporting lots of different protocols.

Since I last looked at Twisted I think there's been much more work on a
web framework.  Well, I don't think there was any framework when I last
looked.  But, anyway, I would certainly classify that portion of Twisted
as early development.  I don't know how that reflects on the rest.

It would be kind of interesting to port Webware's servlet model to other
application servers... I'm not sure how possible that would be.  On a
certain level it would be fairly easy, but I expect some of the ideas
might be too different (for instance, an asynchronous model vs. a
threaded model vs. a multiple process model).
