If you're having problems with non-compliance from covered entities that you believe should be in compliance with the electronic transaction final rule at this time then I'd recommend that you file a complaint to Jared Adair who heads up CMS's enforcement arm for the electronic transactions regulation. You don't need a "service", this is your federal government in action! Rachel Foerster

I've asked several contacts about this, even some on this listserv. The best advice I've gotten was that once there is a mechanism in place for reporting complaints then I should follow the process for filing one. I do not believe there is such a "service" set up at this time. If anyone knows of one, if they could send out the info that would be great. I spent several weeks arguing with certain payers about their non-compliant request. But if I wanted to be approved for production in their system, I had to make the change. I don't consider this a "done deal," but at this time I don't know of any other recourse. Rich MacCatherine Software Engineer Source Medical, Inc. There major concern is lack of compliance (or none at all) from their trading partners. They do not want to cause a problem with their payors. What if there was an organization who they could report their concerns to, and this organization would act as a first level of education and/or mediation???"? Julie
