Details:

I encountered the following recently.

I wanted to move an elvish ranger through forest.
There was a path to the destination which ran entirely inside
the forest (and hence was of minimum MP cost). However the UI
insisted on giving me a path which intermediately left the
forest. This, of course would have disclosed the ranger's
position somewhat.
Usually, this could have been solved by breaking the movement
into several parts. But in this case, a bottleneck position
was held by a friendly unit.

Would it be possible for the pathfinder algorithm to prefer
terrain which keeps invisibility, (forest for units with ambush,
darkness for units with nightstalk, deep water for units with
submerge) when the MP cost is the same?

This happened with 1.2 on Debian Etch.
