Is this possibly a duplicate of bug #17868? (Well, given the original
submission dates, I suppose that one would have to be considered a duplicate
of this.)
Anyway, when I've encountered this, I have not needed to press multiple keys
or spam a single key -- just pressing and releasing the left ALT key (once)
works for me. For other people, it might be the right ALT key that needs to be
pressed, but if this is the same basic problem I (and others) have encountered
in other programs (as well as in Wesnoth), it should not take multiple
keystrokes, once you know which key to hit. (There is a difference between the
left and right ALT keys, though!)
(By the way, SDL 1.2.15 was recently released, and a fix for this is
mentioned in its change log. For whatever that is worth.)
