A while ago some developers expressed concern about the post-1.0 development of Wesnoth. Specifically it was complained that there was a lack of direction (which I think was true). There were some proposals to somewhat 'formalize' development processes, but these proposals never materialized in anything.

I think formalizing development processes is liable to kill a project if it's not done well, so I'm somewhat happy that the proposals (even mine) never really went anywhere. Rather, we seem to have evolved, or be evolving, to a new, somewhat more de-centralized development method that doesn't require me to spend alot of time on the project. In particular, the capacity of the development team to release a nice 1.1 has impressed me that Wesnoth is now a mature project that doesn't rely on a single individual to survive.

There is a question I have for developers though: are we now happy with where the project is going? Do we still need more direction? Are the concerns of a couple of months ago still alive, or have they been qualmed since then? If some people still aren't happy, what changes should be made?
