I don't see too much of a sabotage there and several long term developers that
we talked to in IRC confirmed that the language as proposed by RACV is differing
(slightly?) from the "official" catalan. So the translation was renamed.

Sorry, but this sounds like an all political discussion and it is really tiring.
That is your arguments are not really this convincing to me.

Then why do you not just provide a patch to change the name displayed in the
language selection instead of ranting that it is wrong? At the moment "Idioma de
la RACV" is used. Since I don't speak any of the approximately 500 variations of
catalan/valencian/whatever I am not able to change the string to something
"correct"...

Sorry, but you are basically the one trying to turn this into a political
discussion.

*WHICH* consensus? As I have seen so far there is absolutely no consensus on how
to call the translation. That is basically two languages that somehow differ in
some things claim the same name. How should someone not speaking any of the two
judge? We can only see what is officially used in the country, which seems to
not be the version as described (no idea if this term is correct) by RACV.

The rest of the developers know about the discussion from the wesnoth-dev
mailing list and are seriously annoyed about it. There is no new argument in the
whole lines of mails, nothing seriously backing up arguments. It is just
repeating the same stuff over and over. And to keep those informed, I am sending
this mail as CC to the dev ml.

Instead of just saying "this musn't be done this way", why not do something more
constructive? Provide some way for solving this mystery.

No, wesnoth is not a democracy. It is basically what we do, no votes and
whatever connected to it. Basically it is what the efforts from many developers
make it.

Wesnoth is not firefox. There is no "official" glibc locale for the RACV version
of valencian, so we can as well stay with racv since it is not uservisible
anyway. If you got a good idea for the uservisible string ingame (lang selection
and credits), submit a patch like Robert has done.
