Hi Guys Interesting responses to the Ambassador's utterances there... some probably a little too harsh and emotional? I think like Azabo argues, we need to look at the underlying concerns. If the people who should be talking are not doind so, it may be opportune that at least an interested foreigner is! Mr. Male raised interesting issues aboutour leaders - where are they in all this? One fact is that in the short run we cannot do without aid! What we need to do is contribute our part (like many of the current 'elite' discussing did in their time of need) in getting the best out of it. And we should influence the targeting of the foreign aid for maximum impact. Best... Patrick Okuni

At least "MacKreal and rubber"courtesy of WFP I think, made me get through Ombaci very successfully..Hahahahaha.. Qn.What motivation is now available for those there? good teaching, food, attitude? I hope there's a politician on this "our" forum. If your money is getting poor results would you rather withdraw or add more? If you think it is enough to change the standards, then something is not being done right and that is his role as a donor to find out and correct bse this is his money. Then the solution he provides is whimsical to say the least. Listen to this, "If they don't perform well we will take our money to those 'already' performing well". God bless this fucking world full of hypocrites who want to ride on the successes of others. Im enranged with that type of logic. Amen. Truly, Ejiku Robert. My spirits were uplifted by our brothers Vasco Oguzu and John A Jackson. I will come to that. Kigs you informed us about Banks standing out as a haven for dividends and Mundua opined that the Crisis will create a new World Order. Well probably it Might be China. I chanced upon an article in the Daily Telegraph which indicated that the European Banking system is about to collapse. The Article claims that European Banks may have to write down US$25 trillion in losses. This is in stern contrast to American Banks which according to professor Roubini may write off US$1.8trillion. In other words, the problems faced by American Banks are nothing but a skinned knee compared to what European banks face. These Banks account for 74% of the entire US$4.9trillion portfolio to emerging markets. The Financial clincher is that no European Federal Reserve bank exists to print trillions of euros to bail out everyone like in U.S.A. When Monitor ran a story about GTV, some unscrupulous fella spinned a rumour that some big Ugandan bank with roots from UK had bust. I have never seen panick personified. Had it not been for the ingenuity of the PR fellas from that bank, we would have seen another Greenland. Now that we have a former teller as the Minister of Finance, Hope we shall not resort as Oyullu Put it to keep our dime in pots made from Panyamur. Mundua the ball is in Your Court. I have seen 20 new banks in Uganda. Hope our economy can absorb them. _______________________________________________ WestNileNet mailing list WestNileNet@kym.net http://orion.kym.net/mailman/listinfo/westnilenet % WestNileNet is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
