Hello West Nilers and Everyone,
In a previous piece that I wrote regarding this direction/focus diverting Lado
issue, I stated that we should leave this never ending Lado fantasy as a
historical issue. I believe that some of you would agree with me that I could
care less about Ladoland right now. Once again, I urge us to focus on finding
ways of getting our people out of whatever predicament they are in right now.
Speaking of the "King Agami", I would like to make Charles Male and others that
I was one of those hoodwinked by this scheme of providing scholarships to go to
Europe. Indeed, I filled one of those duplicated forms with all my
particulars and wasted my meagre refugee funds to mail them to Denmark.
Personally, the Lado issue sickens me hen I begin to associate it with the
"King" etc. I'm writing about Lado for the last time and anything about it
will go directly in my trash!
We should focus on development issues such as famine, education, poverty
allevaiation and, may be most importantly, how we can capitalize on the
strategic position West Nile has found itself in in terms of the economic
potential with our neighbouring communities such as Southern Sudan, DRC and
Bunyoro region. The more we talk about Ladoland the more we keep the flame of
this non-developmental issue alive. Could someone (may be the host or this
forum- Westnilenet) urge all of us to end this Lado discussion, please, as it's
becoming, if it has not yet done so, a distraction from concentrating on the
fundraising initiative.
I hope I've not offended the advocates of Ladoland.
Thanks and hope to talk more about developmental matters rather than Lado...
Mike

Dear All,
This lado misbehavioiur is being orchestrated mostly by people who have little
understanding of uganda today. Some are in Denmark, some US and a few in other
countries. As for us who are based in uganda we feel strongly against any
mind that is bent on confusing the right thinking west nilers. How can we think
of a new state if we have failed to feed our people? When we have failed to
prevent teen age smoking and mairungi... school drop out ... and so forth. I
think... okuonzi and few of the others should create another list serve and
stop disturbing our peace. Now we are focusing on developmental issues not how
we can go to the bush. in my earlier remark, i mentioned i donot want to see
any Opoka's... for those of you who passed through MUK... he was one of the
senior Guild presidents who got misled by protagonist like oKuonzi who are
bent on spreading harm ful information. He eventually got killed by
Kony..,.,better still
wasted. Therefore if I were the lado advocates i would go back to bed and
sleep because even a hen or a goat may not support the idea of break away at
this point in time. Please my friends wake up from sleep and think of how we
can save river enzau from drying and maraca from becoming adesert and getting
the Aringa to appreciate the value of productive agriculture...the list is
inumerable... please let us get back to raisning money and debating on how we
shall best help guide our business people and the leaders.. thank you all.
Over to you.

Sorry my mail was incomplete. If we could undermine our own Iddi Amin, how can
we today imagine that we can form a state with people we already despise.
Ronald has already stated that the Dinka are not part of Lado yet they are the
biggest tribe in Southern Sudan. Lets not make this Lado thing sickening. We
are not cowards. We cannot state boldly in black and white that we are
stateless. Uganda is our state not Lado. How can some one imagine that they are
waiting for the Brits to give independence. My brothers if you want
Independence, fight for it. Shed your blood. Any way It is good that we have
learned about our origin and History, but I will not take pride in a history of
a vanquished people. We from West Nile have not been wiped out from the face of
Uganda. Our struggles should be geared towards building capacity, we need more
Medical Doctors, more bankers, more Permanent Secretaries, more Commissioners,
more Engineers, more business men, more
Generals, more lawyers e.t.c so that we rightfully assert ourselves were we
belonged in this country before we went into exile. Lets forget this Lado dream
because we shall end up like the sleeping dogs which lie. Lado is not a factor
in global politics. Qaddafi is thinking about a United States of Africa and for
us we are thinking about what Otafiire called Obsolete Institutions of King
ships, e.t.c. Lets wake up we need education, wealth and health not Lado.
