Are you talking about the ability to execute a program if the
device/application fails?
We setup WhatsUp Gold to send an SNMP set to reset a UPS if a device
attached to it stops responding. Rebooting the device seems to bring it
back. Not an ideal solution but, WhatsUp Gold allowed us to deliver on what
the client wanted. Also, we have used it to open and close trouble tickets.
Pretty slick, the Program Notification feature is awesome.
