We have a server (non-snmp aware) that needs to act on a contact closure. The snmp devices are out on our network. So, when the snmp device traps (to WhatsUp), WhatsUp can in turn do a set on another snmp device to close it's contacts. The server then would see that the contacts closed and to it's thing.

You could look at remotely controlled power strips, then have an outlet drive a relay. Of course if your intent is to turn on and off an AC powered device, this will do that directly. I played with an APC AP9211, multiple outlets, individual control. What I did was when got an alarm in WUG, I would run a batch file to turn on the outlet as an external screaming alarm to wake up the operations staff. Unfortunately, there was no way to link an acknowledge selection in the WUG web page to run another batch program to turn off the alarm. I still have the APC box awaiting for that day when IPswitch gives me a hook to call a batch program from the ASP page directly (or execute a notification from the asp page directly).
