I experienced the same problem as described above. I downloaded/installed this
helpful freeware program http://www.gregorybraun.com/WebTime.html which I've
used before. I selected another time site different than the Windows default. My
WinXP SP2 time/system was quickly updated. HTH
I used to get errors sometimes wih default servers time.nist.gov and
time.windows.com, but no more since I switched to time-a.nist.gov.
