Probably a timeout - according to your system setup.. If downloading is slowed for any reason, or the page being addressed contains lots of images then the complete set may not have been downloaded before the 'timeout' (permitted page download period) is reached. on the subsequent attempt at the page, many of the images will already have been downloaded and stored in cache - those will not need to be downloaded in the second attempt - so the page download gets completed within the second time allocation period
