Just a thought. Perhaps you could create an XPPE CD, install Snagit on it,
and run it as a boot CD. Wayne could probably comment on that.
I commented on that thread

While I can get Snagit to run from my XpPe compilations it is not freeware
which was one of his criteria another of his criteria that is hard to meet
is to run on 98 machines. While my XpPe will run with machines that run 98
most 98 machines don't have enough memory to boot my disks. Now one could
make a BartPE disk or a BartGeoPe disk that uses less memory & they could
include Screenhunter
<http://www.wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm> in that
compilation & it will run from a USB thumb drive as it's only 400k & only
an executable with no other related files needed I'm still afraid that most
98 machines wouldn't be able to run BartPE & Screenhunter with at least
128meg required to boot. Then many 98 machines couldn't boot from a cdrom
drive & barely run USB never mind boot from those devices. Mr. Glazier & I
have discussed this ad infinitum.
98 machines simply are not worth repairing these days with the low prices
one can acquire a new system for. There was a thread about this on the HWG
& an article on the NYTimes web site about disposable computers.
Mr. Tucker, an Internet industry executive who holds a Ph.D. in computer
science, decided that rather than take the time to remove the offending
software, he would spend $400 on a new machine.

I don't know that I would go to that extreme but at repair rates what they
are it doesn't take very many hours to exceed the value of the machine. Now
data is a different story & this in now way should start a thread that
basically states it only takes me X to do Y & I only charge Z.
OBTW in the WinNT/2k list there was a thread about how useless MSFT
Antispyware beta is & that it actually let some spyware go undetected. Gee,
if there was enough of this crapola aloud on machines & that was the reason
why you went out & bought a new machine then wouldn't seem logical that all
the computer manufacturers would want spyware on your machine? <lol>
