On top of all that it doesn't have a decent way to back things up either.
Sure it has ntbackup.exe but it's crippled compared to what's in Pro as
there is no ASR [automatic ( & it isn't, surprised ?) system recovery].
Home users need a decent backup even more so than corporate guys do only
because they fubar their systems much more often. The last I knew having a
decent complete backup was every bit a part of the total security protocol
as having an anti virus app is. It's too late now but I wonder what sales
would've been like if MSFT had one complete version of Xp & sold it at a
lower price. I believe they're afraid that the nOObs & novices would play
with settings that they shouldn't but most of the nOObs & novices live by
the motto if it ain't broke don't fix it. I see this all the time when I
get on supposedly experienced users machines & they don't display
extensions which is just asking for trouble.
