You want some one to do all the work of combining patches & upgrades into
one disk then just mail it to you? Hardly sounds fair.
Microsoft should do it. Easy updates is not piracy.
What does what you typed have to do with the line that you quote above it?
I never mentioned piracy. Microsoft does provide rollups & service packs
but you want it more often. If you follow the guide that Stephen provided a
link to you could make your own since you want it so bad but apparently not
bad enough to do it yourself.
I knock piracy in the head on repair jobs by telling prospective customers
who have had Windows XP (Legally should be the Upgrade or the Full
version) installed on their existing computer to bring me the package with
Product Key and bill of sale. Most get the point and do not come in.
You also scare legit customers away because you make them do more to prove
they're legit than anyone else. Why are they guilty until proven innocent?
Microsoft hates burned CD's and says you need original Microsoft CD's for
purposes of accuracy, which is true. We know their primary motive is to
prevent piracy.
You're contradicting yourself since you has stated that "nowhere where
Microsoft takes an active stand against slipstreaming". One usually doesn't
create a slipstream on anything other than a CD. Which is it? Either MSFT
objects or they don't. Dell, HP & etc don't use MSFT CDs as they create
their own disks saving not having to pay MSFT for the disks besides they
customize the drivers into the install just like YOU could with the help of
http://unattend.msfn.org/
I will keep doing my thing and calling Microsoft every time Windows fails
to authenticate because I formatted a name brand computer and the computer
manufacturer used a different Product Key than the one on the COA when
they installed it. As long as Microsoft gives me their wink of approval
via manual phone call authentications and via their Windows Advantage
Initiative I am halfway content.
You can download all the updates & security patches that you want then
create your own WinXp Home CD with them slipstreamed in then make another
for WinXp Pro CD. You can make all the CDs that you want as long as you
don't distribute them. Heck you probably could distribute them if you
wanted as long as you don't provide a key.
I just hate the idea of paying the penalty imposed my Microsoft security
issues in place to prevent software piracy.
Sorry but you ought to get over it as it's always been the majority paying
the price for the few.
From time to time a work copy will not run in somebody's CD or DVD ROM
and I have to use my authentic Microsoft copy.
Does it run better because it has the pretty holographic logo? Gee, my Dell
CDs don't have the logos. Maybe I ought to ask for my money back.
