It must be that some aspect of the executable called is passing Ctrl-C to the keyboard buffer during execution. Attempt to determine what function of the executable is being used when the effect occurs in an attempt to see if this is the cause.

My OS is Win2K, sp4, and I have some batch files of the following form:

D:
CD \folder
XXXXXX.exe <arguement>

[The XXXXXX.exe files are old 16-bit DOS applications that I still find
useful. 8-) The batch files are associated with programmable function keys on my keyboard. Unfortunately, while the programmable function keys will call a
given application directly, they don't allow for passing arguements to it.
So, I use the batch files to accomplish that.]

This works well but when I terminate the application I sometimes, but not
always, get the following query:

"Terminate batch file? (y/n):"

Strangely enough, it doesn't make any difference whether I respond with 'y',
or 'n', the batch file just goes ahead and terminates. I cannot think of a
good reason for this query under the implied conditions...
