Sorry I posted the question two times. I was struck by the "disconnected mail" issue of recent days.
PPP adapter shows 0 for IP address as expected with a DHCP server of 255.255.255.255 The NTS PPPoE adapter shows 0 for IP address and same DHCP server of 255.255.255.255 The 3COM NIC in use shows the IP address specified in my Linksys setup and the default gateway is my router address, none of which has changed recently. The IP address is the first in the range activated in the Linksys, the subnet is 255.255.255.0. The DNS server addresses are the generic addresses of 4.2.2.3 and 4.2.2.4, mentioned earlier this year on this list, possibly by you??
