If you want to avoid Windows sharing issues, then yes, you can use a garden
variety wired or wireless print server to connect the printer to the
network.

Each machine which accesses the print server will consider it to be a local
printer. Just follow the instructions that come with the print server.

I neglected to give the network that's connecting them together. I know
*exactly*zero* about all this strange windows-networking stuff. [and
indeed, worse comes to worse, I'll see if I can find a *real*
lineprinterserver [using LPR or some such] and not bother with window's
sharing... :o)]]. My systems are all set up with wireless cards and for
the most part wireless to the Linksys [and from there to the Direcway
box, as needed]. Don't know a thing about workgroups or domains or any
of that other microsoft-like networking stuff [which is likely why I
can't get the print-serving to work...:o)]
