Hello,
We're evaluating win4lin, and are having some problems.
Our Linux users all have their home directory on an SGI
machine, accessed from their Linux box via NFS.
The win directory is created locally in /home/$USER/win,
no problems here.
They set up a drive in windows to point to their login
directory:
drive=m,unix,/sgimachine/username/,map_standard,case_mapping
so far so good.
The problem is, that not all directories show up, neither in
Windows Explorer nor using DIR in a DOS window!
If I create (in Linux) 30 directories, named dir001 to dir030 in a
directory under the m: drive, I get the following listing:
Enheden i drev M er k020-03
Enhedens serienummer er 1234-000D
Indhold af M:\win4lin\test1
. <DIR> 21-09-00 9.14 .
.. <DIR> 21-09-00 9.11 ..
DIRLIST 72 21-09-00 9.14 dirlist
DIR026 <DIR> 21-09-00 9.11 dir026
DIR027 <DIR> 21-09-00 9.11 dir027
DIR024 <DIR> 21-09-00 9.11 dir024
DIR025 <DIR> 21-09-00 9.11 dir025
DIR022 <DIR> 21-09-00 9.11 dir022
1 fil(er) 72 byte
7 mappe(r) 2.147.450.880 byte ledig
I've done:
dir >dirlist
that's why the DIRLIST file shows up.
(It is a Danish version of Windows, but I guess you
get the picture).
What happened to the rest of the directories?!?
The funny thing is, that even though the directories
don't show up, I can still cd into them.
Scenario:
win4lin 1.0-eval
redhat 6.2
IBM 300PL, 192 Mb, Pentium II or Pentium III
homemade kernel 2.2.17 with win4lin patches (I've made
kernels _many_ times before)
Danish Windows 98
BTW, how do I get the "Alt Gr" key to work with a Danish
keyboard: I can't type the characters "@{[]}|\~" without
this key; I have to do Alt-64 to get an @...
