Hi Phil-

Yes, that's right. The whole WLAN override thing is a pet peeve for me. To add
a new SSID to just a few APs, you have to add it to all APS on a controller
then use WLAN override and a disruptive device reboot to get it off of all of
the APs you don't want it on.

That goofy approach aside, we are seeing that often you need to reboot APs
again as they sometimes stop transmitting all WLANs they are supposed to even
though the ones you want are in the WLAN override list- and usually a reboot
does make them behave. Worse yet, we are also seeing where SSIDs are randomly
dropping off of the WLAN override list- it usually starts with a complaint of
no or weak signal for a given network in a given location, and when start
looking in the system you find that the AP is up and things appear fine in
config, it's just that nothing is being transmitted. Or only some of the SSIDs
are being transmitted despite all being in the list. Or... SSIDs that were in
the list have mysteriously dropped off of the list.

I am not sure if this is related but I found that after applying an WLAN / SSID
change to WLAN override you have to reboot the AP. Cisco say this anyway.

We are seeing the exact same issue. It seems as the settings are just not being
saved. In the beginning we thought it might have been an issue with WCS not
saving the settings on the WiSMs, but we discarded this after applying the
settings directly on the WiSMs. I havenĀ“t found anything on the release notes.

Asunto: [WIRELESS-LAN] WLAN Override- Again a WiSM question
One more question on WiSMs, to check my own sanity. I'm starting to see what
appears to be a trend. Where I have WLAN override selected and applied and in
use for a while with no issues, it seems that randomly SSIDs are either
dropping from the list of selected SSIDs and need to be reapplied, or are in
the list and selected, but not actually being transmitted and require a reboot
to get them to behave again. Is like config is partially lost. I have seen this
around a dozen times over the last several months, not tied to any specific
controller or WLAN, just feels a bit indiscriminate.

Anyone else getting this condition?
