Scott, OK, I admit I'm totally dumb here.
For shielding do you want absorption of signal or reflectivity of signal? Do
you want to conduct it to dissipaters or reflect it back to source or
contain it?

I have a machine shop customer that makes enclosures and he has sheets of
thin lead with adhesive on one side that he puts on the inside lid of a case
that looks like an old IBM AT case. He told me it was to BLOCK signal coming
in. he does not ground it except where there is a case mounting screw. He
used to do this for Sysco too.

Now to the next questions. If Lead is heaver, is it more molecularly dense
than steel?
Would molecular density have more to do blocking or containing micro wave
radiation.
(They do use it to block very, very short wavelengths, but 2-8 foot
thickness!)

I guess I should drive by and get a piece and put it on and off a pigtail
and watch the signal on my lap top.

Oops, yes I got that one backwards.
Conductivity of several items is on
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrical_conductivity
Resistance of more items is at http://physics.info/electric-resistance/
According to the second site, Steel has about 10x the resistance of
copper, about 7x the resistance of aluminum.

to carry the same current but they're cheaper and lighter.
