Thanks. I think the error message/documentation should be updated if that is the case and the error message just leads us to believe the format is invalid, not that you can't use a variable for the version.
Hopefully this requirement can be relaxed in a future version as everything else (Upgrade GUID etc) can be defined at bind time.
