So you are saying that you can't update the current site to include
a link and a "We are alive and accepting patches" message because
the PHP/MySQL setup is difficult to handle.

So why not write a simple .html like in the good old days just to
    _start_
    spreading the message?

Let's keep it simple -- the alternative has caused some years of
    unwanted
    delay already.

What has triggered this, is an article about Linus' hating the new Gnome3.
The alternatives mentioned were KDE4 (everyone left for Gnome2),
XFCE, and one mention of WindowMaker which also mentioned that its a dead project .

Please just put SOMETHING up to make people aware that WM is not completely dead.
If noone knows its there, it may as well be dead.

Just a short note "this website is not being updated, but WM is alive. please check the mailing list HERE, and a fan site HERE" (eg link to a freaking WindowMaker facebook page if you have to)

I absolutely agree. I am willing to help make this site awesome. Infact, the conversation ended for me as I got to busy with other projects. But I think if we made a site that said the basics it wouldn't take much to do. Personally, I am a python based webdeveloper. I think the fastest platform to put up a new site would be web2py. If someone has a design I can create a site to start showing that WM is still up and kicking. I have said all this before, but progress always seems so slow on this part of WM.
