Seems like a good time to talk about 'best practice' on voting ;-)

Just in case anyone's not familiar, in Apache-land, the usual way to decide
something is to discuss first, and then to kick off a vote by sending an
email to the list with [VOTE] in the subject line. This ensures people get
to see decisions taking place even if they don't crawl through all the mail
threads. The vote email should also clearly detail the choices available.
Votes are typically +1/+-0/-1, with -1 votes expected to come with an
explanation.

That said: if consensus emerges on this thread, no need for a vote ...
