--- Comment #5 from Rainer Meier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 2007-12-07 08:15:30 --- Here I do not fully agree. Selecting the network is definitely a task within the responsibility of the user and/or operating system, not the one of any WPKG component. I just think we should make sure that WPKG runs as smooth as possible within the given environment. If the user choses (for whatever reason ever) a slow network connection WPKG just has to adapt to this environment. That was actually the reason I asked for this change in WPKG client. WPKG is aimed to offer an alternative deployment solution. Lots of users are using it since SMS or ActiveDirectory is too limited. These days mobility is becoming more and more important. People are roaming between multiple locations and WPKG should take that into account. It is just annoying if WPKG tries to install the latest Photoshop version while roaming on a GSM connection. You're right that this can be done by a pre-executed script as well. We just have to take into account that WPKG might not be selected in an evaluation if such a support is not built-in (not a direct feature of the application). So I will go on trying to write a script or program which detects network speed and can be executed as a pre-script to wpkg client. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.wpkg.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net email is sponsored by: Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
