Yeah, I like Fireworks too, although for some reason, a lot of designers don't.

Fireworks is particularly good for laying out Web Application interfaces IMHO. The CS3 version has some really useful features in that regard, such as the 9-slice scaling guides, which let you better define how elements should scale - e.g. you can exclude rounded corners from the scale, so that they don't get stretched when you scale up. very useful!

And if price is an issue, Fireworks standalone is a good deal cheaper than Photoshop.
