I have (another) Mac user running OSX 10.11 with an audio problem reported as
follows:

I need some help with this problem that has crept up on my WSJT-X installation.
I’m using a Kenwood TS-590S with a Macbook Pro under system 10.11.5. The
issue I’m having is that in the middle of a QSO, the software switches from the
radio USB sound I/O to the internal microphone and speakers. I’m able to
re-create this problem by just launching the software and hitting the TUNE
button 2 or 3 times in a row. The only way to recover is either re-select the
USB Audio CODEC on both input and output or re-launch the program.

He adds: "There are documented issues with USB audio devices in general and OS
X 10.11 that
supposedly got resolved in 10.11.4. Also worth pointing out that this happen
on both JT-65 and WSPR modes."

An earlier report was with an Icom rig. Bill has mentioned that these
problems as probably OSX 10.11 related. I run OSX 10.11 and have not seen
this problem and cannot provoke it.

I have suggested using a ferrite core on the USB line in case of RFI but
without apparent success. In any case, RF power is very low - 5 watts or less.

Has anyone any suggestions? Are these reported elsewhere?
