Hi Mike,

OK, I follow now. There may be a misunderstanding that when you select 
"None" for the "Rig" in "Settings->Radio" that rig control is not in 
use. It is in use but the rig is a mock rig, it uses the Hamlib dummy 
rig which is fully functional but does not connect to a rig. We do have 
to have a couple of special cases with this dummy rig e.g. using split 
although possible is meaningless and now also using band hopping is 
meaningless but my last change stops that too.
