So I've ran into the same bug as other and am just as dumbfounded....
Actually audio did work just after install but after a few transmit cycles
the waterfall froze. I noticed this a couple of times. I also tried just
receiving and no freeze occured.
Then I tried updating and rebooting and how now matter what I try,
pavucontrol, alsamixer, etc. I can't see any attempt to send audio.
Fedora 28 is on Qt 5.10 and Fedora 27 is on 5.9. Is this likely a Qt bug?
