I'm on Fedora 28 too.

As I have mentioned previously, the audio selection "pulse" is not more
working well now. I'm using the selection which pulseaudio is
displaying. Unfortunately, because the stream name includes the PID,
this stream name is different at every new program run. Therefore, the
volume cannot be saved by pulseaudio for the next program run. I have to
adjust the audio level at every program start, for the RX level.

Because there is a slider for the TX level in wsjtx, I can adjust it so
that the default level given by pulseaudio gives the output level which
I'm expecting. The slider for the input level has been suppressed in wsjtx.

A further observation is that now, there is no more "underrun" warning,
which was nearly standard, as I have used the "pulse" setting while
using Fedora 26.

For me, wsjtx is working well on Fedora 28.
