Hi Laurie,
I have sorted out the highlighting text with '+' characters issue, it
was a dumb error of using the text in a regexp without escaping the
meta-characters.
OTOH this issue with highlighting in the wrong period still has me
struggling to either reproduce or discover what is going on. Any other
information that might help me would be useful. E.g. machine under load,
or fast machine with no load. How easy is it to reproduce?

I am also observing it with multiple decodes per period. From my live
