Hi Bill and Mike, For your information: I have just compiled wsjt-x v2.3.0-rc3 with a freshly created hamlib (Build Date: 21-01-2021 at 11:16, source files from hamlib master repository). Result: My Yaesu FT-991 seems to work without any problems. Frequency changes and TX / RX work perfectly in both directions. I did not find any undesirable effects.
