Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my queries. You were quite correct in relation to my first cry for help. I had failed to spot the relevant README-htdig file before sending the email. And my namazu problems were also all my own. The solution to one was spelled out in the listed options of namazu's "mknmz" command; the second was caused by failing to run WWWOFFLE's purge routine sufficiently frequently and allowing the WWWOFFLE cache to become far too big. Both now attended to. It seems to me that keeping the search indexes updated is a natural candidate for a cron job scheduled to run routinely at 2.00 am. Well beyond my current scripting abilities, but grist for the mills of several regular contributors to the wwwoffle-users list.
