I was disappointed with the FoxyProxy extension, it is too difficult
to use.  If the user interface to FoxyProxy had been like NoScript (a
menu in the corner of the window that allows scripts or not) then it
would be so much more useful.  At the moment you need to go through
2 dialog boxes and actually type in the hostname not to be proxied.  I
know that it is more powerful than just adding or removing hosts, but
it could have been easier for the simple case.
