That's awesome. I was out when I saw your email and was saying that only half in jest.
My installation "script" is a lot of me fighting with cpan, arguing with yum or apt-get, and a lot of swearing. To write a good chef recipe we need to know: "dependancies" or prerequisites, what config files are we going to manage, and what binaries and libraries are we going to install. Also well need to know how to "install" everything on various platforms (dpkg -i vs rpm -i etc).
