Yes, gstreamer is installed by default on a Fedora desktop system.

That's one of the drawbacks from being an experienced user from ancient
times. ANd that's why I tried the "cpanm Wx" approach, just to see how
far it gets these days.

I do not see anything OpenGL in Wx::Demo 0.22. Where is the demo hidden?

Yes, a number of modules are not loaded since they require a newer
version of wxWidgets. Fedora 20 ships with 2.8.12.
