While it's written by Apple, it's open source and Apple is not in the habit
of scattering undocumented interfaces through such code. The interface to
the closed-source bits in Core Graphics is hidden away in libAppleWM, IIRC,
and past discussion on Apple's X11-Users list suggests that getting changes
into that library is difficult at best.
