Indeed, somebody (or a small group) are producing a very useful piece of
software for the joy of doing it and are providing it at no cost.  Be
grateful for it.  When they say you can hire somebody to help you if you
have a shorter time frame for fixes than they can provide, just accept
that they have a life and may not be able to repond immediately and
they've suggested a path that you can take that provides more immediate
help.
