I have taken over a query from user of ours, "subject" is the same but I have omitted detail below, I can resend if required. Basically the user appears to be sticking to his guns and pointing at the following.

His response:

DNS implementations must match case-insensitively but should preserve case whenever possible.

and I'm sure its reiterated in some of the other related documents too.

Please re-open your ticket with them with pointers to the above.

There are many mentions of the words "whenever possible" or "In certain circumstances this cannot be done" or "Loss of case sensitive data must be minimized" So I agree he should simply use lowercase nodenames, or not worry about it. Can we have a response along those lines please?
