Dear David,

It is entirely possible that nedit also incorrectly uses X functions.
How about that! As I described earlier, the source would not compile on
my box until I added a final -lXm to the LIBS list presented in the
source/Makefile.linux@ file. This function-missing is a very nasty
problem that was common with early C compilers that could not keep track;
of functions, library parts, and such other `little' program parts. Those
errors might be creeping back in again.

You don't suppose that the guys at Opera, who must code for profit
as well as fun, are doing it correctly and some old errors have finally
come up and bitten xc-mail? Another BIG problem is the relation between
C and C++ parts in a coding system. UGH!

The cut/copy/paste method that has worked continually for me between
xterm, term, programs, button windows, etc., is: select with left click
highlighting sweep, drop with center click at the position I want, or
right click and choose from the menu presented. The right click also
works for menu selection after a left click selection and before moving
the pointer to the new position.

The sudden presentation of text from somewhere I have not highlighted
has never occurred, ever, in my experience on this box. I'll have to
follow your directions and see if I can activate that feature also.

    Shalom,

    John B. Brown.
