I tried my wife's Nexus 7 (2012 version) yesterday in flight. While the display is not as good as the Dell Streak 5, it's far superior to my Moto X cell phone and a prior Galaxy III. On the down side it seemed to be a bit weak on processing power and there were times when the display stopped updating for a couple of seconds. That's not normally a problem but, when trying to stay on the lift line in high winds in wave, those couple of seconds can be problematic.
Has anyone tried the Nexus 7 (2013 version)? It's supposed to have a faster processor (3 GB/s vs 1.5 GB/s). I wonder if the extra speed is enough and if it has the same or better sunlight readability. Streaks are getting harder to find and I can get a brand new Nexus 7 for the same or less money.
